Ethan my funny boy

Just a few funnies I don't want to forget about Ethan and this hilarious age!

* he's obsessed with his new underoos he got for Christmas and wants to wear them non stop and fights me to put on pants to leave the house because the underoos are just too cool!
* Call his forehead a "headband" so always want to put stickers and stamps on his and our "headband." ha!
* Calls my bra "boo boos!"  When he sees a bra laying around (oops) he pretends to put it on and says, "my boo boos." guess I need to hide that stuff more these days. :)
* Loves his camoflauge pants and tells everyone they're his "bear hunting pants." No clue where he got that but I love it!
* Everything is "so cool" right now!
* He tells me he has a secret often and then whispers (a big huffy whisper) "I love you" in my ear and I melt.
* Braden is still "Bubby" and may be forever.
* Ethan's prayer at dinner continues to be, "Dear God my food, Dear God Amen."  always the same! :)
* When I tuck Ethan in and walk away he says each  night, "Tell Daddy I love me" meaning tell Daddy I love him if Chris isn't home.

Aleah turns 5!

On Saturday Ethan and I headed up to Spencer for my niece Aleah's 5th birthday.  Braden and Chris stayed back for his basketball game so it was just me and small stuff.  We had a great day visiting my friend Melissa, lunch with my dad and then a super cute pink and purple and all things girly birthday party with Aleah.  Happy birthday big girl!!!

Rainbow day in kindergarten

On Friday I got to go into Braden's class for another fun center day! This day was rainbow day because Mrs.Schneider says the winter is blah and they needed a colorful day (love her)!! So the kids were supposed to wear bright colors and all of their centers were rainbow related.  I love going in..it's fun to be with Braden and see him interact with his friends and teacher. :)

The end of birhday extravaganza

Last but not least, we had to celebrate Braden's birthday at school (um....when we were kids did we hve multiple birthday celebrations? I'm pretty sure no! Even when I think I'm simplifying...I'm really not. hee hee).  I made the Lego cookies again and Ethan and I headed into school. :)
And the face..again. :)  I have to include these so we'll remember at this age Braden made this half frowny, half smile looking face when he was embarrased or something was funny. :)

Braden's 6th Birthday Party

On Saturday we had Braden's birthday party for family complete with a super fun Lego theme. Chris and I had way too much getting ready for this theme.  I say Chris had "fun" loosely because I gave him some Lego assignments that you'll see below. :)  I love having the kids' parties because we get our whole family under one roof which is SO nice! Thanks to everyone for coming!
At Braden's request, I made Lego cookies.  They may look like a 3rd grader decorated them but by gholly they're made from scratch! :)  They did taste good despite the sloppy icing job.  I had fun making the goody bags look like legos....
Check out this fabulous Lego cake! My mom did this! She's not a professional cake maker but if you give my mom any kind of job she's all in!!  She worked really hard and we all thought it looked fabulous..and tasted yummy too!
Chris' assignments:  I asked him to make me the fork and spoon holder on the table but told him he could use Lego Duplos for less time. ha!  He also made this awesome "Braden" lego structure you can see that we now have on a shelf in Braden's room.  Pretty impressive babe!
Big stuff is 6 today!
Pretty cousins
Chris bringing in the pizzas....after our Lego decorations/projects, we went for easy pizza. ha!
ahhhhh...baby girls meeting. Claira and Stella were checking each other out.  I get my baby girl fix in our family. :)
Birthday meal request-pizza and nachos. So healthy!
My mom and Claira
Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you!
There's the face!
They ended up being trick candles because I just pulled them out of the drawer so they kept re-lighting...pretty funny stuff!
Cake and ice cream time
Mom and me

Gma Cindy got some snuggles from the bday boy
Braden was pumped for present time!  He was sure he'd get Lego sets!  Of course he did.
A knee board for this summer!  The boys were excited...especially Ethan, Mr. Boater!
Izzie was ready!
Ethan demonstrates how it works. ha! This kid is a hoot!  What a super fun birthday! Happy birthday Braden Alan!  We are sooo proud of you and love you so much!

Braden's birthday part 1

Braden's birthday fell on Friday Jan. 4th of Christmas break.  His party was going to be the next day so we decided to do a little something with his buddies.  He picked bowling (yay for cheap) so off we went! The kids were great and everyone had fun!
Friday morning he had donuts (his favorite) with a little candle. He always makes this face now when he thinks something is weird or funny.
Buddies arrive at the house for a little playtime before bowling.
Big 6 year old gets ready to bowl!
He scores! ha!
Good looking boys!
This was Ethan's first time.  He needed a little help with that big 'ole ball!  He like it for about 5 frames then got bored and was ready to go. :)
Back at the house for cookies, ice cream sundaes and presents!
Legos of course gets the approval!

New Year's Eve

Blogger has not been working lately so I'm just now updating from New Year's. ha!  Kate and Matt had a party and invited us over for some fun.  The Thomas' brought some "minute to win it" games and we were not short on the laughs. Oh my!! :)  Such a fun night!
Us girls kept trying to pose for one picture and Chris kept taking them at all these weird angles like he was a photographer. :)  We were cracking up and then would view the picture and we'd all say it was a bad angle and we looked yuck so he'd try again. We finally took the one below where Stephanie held out her arm (self portrait). That was our favorite since it showed the least amount of us. ha!
Missy trying to stack the boxes for one game. This was hard!
Me trying to suck air through this wrapping paper tube to keep the ornamnet on the bottom attached and move across the room. I couldn't quit laughing so of course was terrible at it!
Then Chris taught us one he does at Scribner where you start with a cookie on your forehead and have to move it to your mouth with only using your face muscles. I was dying laughing at everyone!!
