Balance is key
Well we have a pretty good walker in our house now. Braden really started to walk this past weekend and it's been pretty cute. At first he was walking with his hands out for balance and then it switched to two fists in front of him like he was going to punch someone. Now he has advanced into the "hold my belly" walking position. By grabbing his belly, he can now walk all over the house with perfect balance. Of course maybe he's telling us he loves to eat, not sure. :)

Louisville Science Cetner
Yesterday Chris and I took Braden to the Science Center in Louisville. Braden's favorite thing was the water table. I think he could have stayed there all day. He kept looking back at me like, "Mom, I'm into something....aren't you going to stop me?" There were a few "big kids" around so it was hard to keep him from getting soaked. I can't wait for this summer to have him in the pool again. He LOVES the water. Of course Chris and I had to have Braden experience everything there was...we always get a few stares as we try to engage Braden in some things that are clearly too big for him (like the slide :). It was a fun day!

Snow day
Today was another snow day for us. Even thought the ground is pure ice and not much fun to play in, I decided I just had to get some pictures of Braden in the snow. As you can see, we didn't have a snowsuit so we just bundled him up in lots of layers and put boots on him that were 2 sizes too big. What a chunky monkey! He wasn't sure what to think of the snow and ice, but I think he liked it!

How did this happen?
I can't even believe this is the same kid!?!?!? How do they grow so fast? I'm pretty sure we will have a delay tomorrow, or school will be called off due to the "blizzard" outside, so I'm staying up late going through old pictures. I can't believe my little snuggly baby is now a big boy....or should I say it?? TODDLER!! (Tear)

I think we have a walker!
Braden has been taking a few steps for a month or so now, but tonight he really got going. It's pretty cute to see him watch his feet and stop and try to get his balance. We have to entice him to go across the room by putting toys on our head or of course having food in our hands. :) Chris was so proud I thought he was going to cry. I think he was afraid Braden would be starting preschool and still not walking! Here he is in action! What a big boy!

Mommy is SO funny!
Braden is a lucky duck to have such a funny mom! She is so clever that she can wad up a granola bar wrapper and drop it and create such fun!
Braden was laughing so hard that by the time I grabbed the camera, he could barely breathe. I just love his little laugh. I'm not sure why I have a basement full of toys when I could use old wrappers for hours of fun. Hee Hee

Riding Big Boy
Well psycho me finally flipped Braden's carseat around so he is facing the front. You actually can do this at 1 year but I was being paranoid about safety. We just did it tonight so thought we had better go for a ride (which turned into shopping) to see how the big boy liked riding first class. As you can see, he is clearly HUGE in his seat. It's a good thing we bought the mac daddy becasue he already fills it up quite nicely. :) I'm pretty sure he is going to love seeing everything and not sitting Indian style.
Preview for the teenage years
I can see it now..."Braden, time to get up for school." "MOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!" Uh! I just hate when I have to wake Braden up in the mornings. It doesn't happen much (especially now that I have wonderful Heidi coming to the house) but on the rare occasion I have to, it sure is cute seeing him sleep. Is it because he is so peaceful and isn't throwing a fit? Nah! He's this peaceful all of the time. :)
Not "Babywise"
So we are officially flunking babywise. For those of you who don't know about Babywise, this is not it!!! Braden was having a ball listening to the sound the newspaper made when it ripped. He thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world so I couldn't resist his little chuckle and let him destroy all papers creating a HUGE mess....not to mention he rubbed black newspaper print all over his face before I could clean his hands.
