First boating trip of summer

This weekend we finally hit the water and for the boat out at Rough River. The water was soooo cold but that didn't stop the boys from getting in. Braden swam, tubed and knew boarded and Ethan swam his little heart out! We were definitely ready for boating season!

Hubers

Our end of the year field trip was to Hubers. Ethan absolutely loved all the animals and feeding each one of them. I've got to get him to the zoo soon! Such a fun day to end our year! :)

Mother's Day

I am sooo blessed to be a mommy! I remember sitting in church and couldn't wait until the day I could stand up with the moms on Mother's Day! I always wanted to be a mommy and even on the roughest day with kids, I try to remember how blessed I am to have two healthy boys!! I really cannot imagine going through life without them! I tell Braden all the time that I am so lucky that God gave them to me. :). Thankful that I got to spend this special day with them and each and every day!

Mother's Day Tea at Grant Line

On Friday morning, Braden's kindergarten class had a Mother's day tea for all the mommies. It was soooo adorable! Mrs. Schneider started by reading us a funny story about mommies having more than two arms (she used to read a sad story and everyone cried but thank goodness for my out of control crying self, she switched to a funny). Then the kids each had a line in a poem about what a mommy does. Braden was first and said, "The kindergarten presents, What is a Mother?"  Then they held up portraits they drew of each of us-really funny! Next they sang some really cute songs and we watched a video of pictures from the year.  The last set of pictures was each child holding up a white board saying what they wanted to be when they grew up.  Braden's said, "I want to be a gas station worker."  The room erupted in laughter...seriously!! ha!  Finally, they passed out several cute gifts they made for us and cookies and punch.  These little events just melt my heart.  :)

This is during the video.  It's hard to see, but it's Braden holding up his sign saying he wants to be the gas station worker. :)
Handsome boy!
Braden's job was to pass out the cookies. He did a great job.
My almost first grader (tear).  I always tell him, he made me a mommy after all. :)
One of our gifts was this cute little flower pot they got to decorate.
After the tea, parents started taking pictures.  Braden was cracking me up trying to connect with the girls but with the big gap. ha!!

Love this one!!
Seth, Walker, Braden and Lynlee...all the mommies are my friends. :)

New park

Last weekend we discovered a new fun park and it was the perfect day to be outside.  Braden found a caterpillar and named it "Freckles" and carried it around all day in a water bottle.  This poor child needs a pet so bad...one of these days his mommy is going to cave.

Chris' band

A couple of weekends ago (I'm way behind here) Chris' band had another show at Bearno's.  My dad came down to go with me.  The boys got some Gpa time in before we went.
Braden showed off his good reading skills for Gpa Scott
Waiting for the big show to start
Chris' mom and my dad were a hoot with their video cameras recording the show.  SOOOO funny!
Nervous Wreck sounded awesome and Chris was rockin' the house of course. :)

Girlfriends that made the show...minus a couple that I missed :(
My dad obviously had a good time!
Great job babe!!  Who knew I'd marry a rockstar? :)

Catching up with Braden...

We had muffins with mom at school.  He loves to do this with his eyes in pictures now!  Probably b/c Mommy doesn't like it...all the more appealing. :)
He passed all of his reading lists for the kindergarten year and got to go forward and get a medal during morning announcements!  Woohoo Buddy!
He is quite the little reader now and even will occasionally read to Ethan.  :)

Thunder over Louisville

We had a fabulous time at thunder this year! One of my preschool parents gave us free tickets to thunderblast which let us get in the science center and the bat factory! We also had bouncers and tons of kids' activities to do all day long and a perfect spot for viewing the fireworks! It really was a perfect day!

The Big 4 Bridge

Today was one of those days that I just love!!! The weather was beautiful and we had the whole day wide open. :)  Chris was gone all day helping his friend at their lake house so we just played all day. We yard saled all morning since it was our neighborhood and the one next to us, and then headed over to walk the new Louisville walking bridge (for you out of towners..it stretches from Louisville across the river to Indiana and it's just for walkers, runners and bikers).

The kids loved being so high up and seeing the river. Braden loved passing the dog walkers the whole time (and wanted to pet every dog!! This poor boy needs a dog). We followed up with ice cream, playground time, naps at home for all and more outdoor time.  Love love love these days!!!
