This morning Ethan got tubes put in his ears since we just couldn't get rid of this nasty ear infection. After 3 different antibiotics the Dr. decided that this was best. It turns out he was more than right! After the surgery he said his ears were full of fluid and his left ear was really infected. Poor baby! Can you imagine having ear pain consistently for 1 month! What's so crazy is that Ethan has been so happy, so either he is super tough or we are going to see a super dooper happy baby now! :)
We had to be at the surgical center at 6:30 am which was hard because we had to wake Ethan and he couldn't have his bottle....however, he really did great with the waking, not eating, and waiting around for his turn. I actually held it together before and during the surgery, it was after that I had to lose it! The nurses had warned me that he would be really fussy and maybe even angry after coming out of the anesthesia. I was warned but nothing could have prepared me for my screaming, super angry, super fussy, almost possessed acting little guy when he returned. It broke my heart!! Obviously they don't know what they are feeling and can't understand it so he did not like it one bit and Chris and I could not comfort him. That's what was so hard. He was literally flipping out for about 10-15 minutes and then the nurses told us to head home and that he would settle down in the car-Ugh...NO! He screamed and thrashed his arms and legs the whole way home too. It was really sad!! When we got home, I finally got him calm and he took a nap and woke up much happier. By tonight he was back to his old self, playing, talking, and making funny faces. I'm glad that is over and so happy that he will feel much, much better!
Thank you SO much for all of your prayers! I knew he would be fine but I'm always comforted knowing God is taking care of him and knowing so many loved ones are praying for him. :) Love you all!!
Getting into the gown...it's sad to see a baby in a hospital gown but he looked pretty cute with his chunkaroos hanging out everywhere. :)

glad it is over and that it went well!!!
Maggie our 1 year old did the same thing last month when she had hers put in. She was actually swinging at and kicking the nurses when we got to recovery. She passed out for 4 hours on the way home and then was perfectly fine. She started talking so much more the next day. Dorothy had them the same day and said everything was so much louder. They both had so much goo in their head that had no way of getting out.
I'm so glad that he is doing well. What a stressful day!
