Mini-marathon

Today was Chris' final race, the mini-marathon (13.1 miles). Braden and I went down to watch him finish. It was so hot just sitting and watching so I can't imagine actually moving in the heat. Chris did so well. He didn't quite make his goal time but he's had a sore hip for about 2 weeks now and hasn't been able to train. Regardless, he did well and we were very proud of him!! He finished in 2 hours and 10 minutes.

Braden's typical race activity...eating

Yeah! We saw him this time!! The green shirt is definitely helping.

After starting the race season with 5 buddies, it came down to just Chris and Russ in the final race. Everyone else was injured. :(

Braden even needed a little drink after the race.

Braden looks thrilled in this picture :)

Preschool trike-a-thon

On Friday night our preschool had their trike-a-thon. It was the cutest little event I have ever seen! We decorated the trikes this week in class and all of their bikes were ready when they arrived. They rode a few laps (it was a fundraiser so they rode for pledges....sort of) and then they could run around and play. We had the playground, the bubble bus, a bouncer, popsicles, popcorn, face painting, characters, and a balloonist. Braden had the time of his life! We didn't leave until 9:00. He was exhasuted and filthy. :)

Braden tried out many bikes (other than his own) before the kiddos arrived.

I'm pretty sure the bubble bus guy was done with our child! Braden went nuts on the bus and kept sitting in the driver's seat and going nuts with all of the horns. :) Even when the man had started the bus and was ready to leave, Braden was running for the bus door to get on again.

Ready, set, go!

Hugs for the dog from the Fun House

Cute Boys

On Friday we got to babysit Tyler for the morning. Braden had fun having a buddy over and not just having to stare at his Mommy all day! I took them for a walk in the bike trailer and they were nice and cozy together. :)

New undies

We haven't actually started potty training yet (Braden pretty much hates the potty), but he got these cute underwear in his Easter basket from Gma Cindy and Pop so I had to try them out. :) I can't take how cute their little butts are in undies! Maybe one day Braden will actually want to start wearing them and quit stinking up his diaper-ha! I told him he can't go poopy on Handy Manny's head so now everytime he goes he says, "no poopy on Hanny Manny's head Mommy." Well no buddy because you are still going in your diaper. Braden doesn't know it yet, but as soon as school is out it's time for potty boot camp!

It's a...

As many of you have already heard, we are having another BOY! We are really excited and I have been smiling all day just thinking about it. The ultrasound showed that everything is right on track and looks very healthy! Yeah. :) Thank you for your prayers! We are due September 20th.

This little side profile reminds me so much of Braden's! The little nose looks the same on both boys.
!
This picture kind of disturbs me and I feel a little weird even posting it (ha!) but anyways...here it is. He is definitely a boy!

Not super clear, but a picture of his little feet-cute little things. :)

Fun Friday

On Friday, Sarah and I took the boys to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and the perfect day to hit the zoo for the first time of the year. You'll notice half of the zoo fun is the carousel and playground because I got very few animal pictures. :)

Braden always loves the carousel but this year I didn't even really need to hold onto him. He's getting so big (literally). :)

Braden and Tyler checking out the monkeys

* On Friday night Chris, Braden, and I went over to Bardstown Road after dinner. A teacher that Chris works with had a little band that was playing so we thought we'd go check it out. Braden loved the music and danced around and made a few friends. He went up and sat right on the ground by this little girl (crackster) and just chilled with the band. What a groupie.
Then we stopped by Bowman Field on the way home so we could watch the airplanes getting ready for Thunder. Braden loved seeing them take off and land...he liked them so much that he tried to crawl under the only tiny opening under part of the fence and some random couple had to grab him for me! It was one of my prouder mommy moments! "Whose child is this?!!!!!"

Easter (Part 2)

On Saturday night we went to church. This was Braden's outfit for this year. My baby looked like a 5 year old!! As a matter of fact, when we took him to his usual toddler class at church the lady said, "Are you sure he is supposed to be in toddlers?" insinuating that she thought he was much older. :) Oh well. He sure looked like a cutie pie to me even if he looked like a little man-Tear!

"cheese mommy"

"cheese again, but then I'm done Mommy!"

"yeah, I'm pretty cute."

Chris, Braden, and hippo outside of church. :)

Easter morning....Braden finding his basket from the Easter Bunny

Lunch at Granny's house-sitting at the big kid table with Austin, Colton, and Katie

Easter egg hunt at Granny's house

Braden sat down to go through his eggs. At our house, his eggs only had jellybeans in them. He was more than surprised to find that Granny's eggs had chocolates and money in them! He kept yelling, "Money, money, money" or "chocolate, chocolate, chocolate" with each egg. It was too funny!
* We had a wonderful Easter! Thank you SO much to all of the grandparents for the wonderful food and Easter treats. Braden sure is a lucky boy to have so many people that love him. It felt like Christmas today! We were all exhausted when we got home. I think we'll be having Easter candy for dinner tomorrow night-ha

An Easter Kind of Day!

Today my mom came down to spend the day with us. We started off the day by visiting the Easter Bunny at the mall. I really didn't think he'd like it this year, but he loved it! He even gave the bunny lots of kisses. :)

After visiting the bunny we came home and made Rice Krispie treats shaped as eggs. It was one sticky mess but we had fun decorating them. Braden was a big helper with the icing until he just decided to eat one. Then he ate it like corn on the cob until the whole thing was gone. It was hilarious!

The finished products. :)
Then it was time to really decorate eggs. I always forget how much the dye stains your hands. Braden's aren't too bad, but I'm pretty sure my thumb will be blue for a few days.

"very gentle"

Thanks for coming down Mom! We had so much fun with you! :)

The Easter Bunny is ready!

Mommy Easter Bunny decided to decorate Braden's basket this year. It looks like a five year old did it but I had fun making it. :) I found this bucket for $1.00 at the Dollar Tree and then just used paints we already had at home. Plus most of the things in Braden's basket came from the dollar bins at Target (besides the PJ's and hammer toy). I am quite proud of my thriftiness. I am taking advantage of the cheapness (and bad paint job) while Braden is too young to notice. :)

Fun at the park

Eating a little lunch before we played. Braden in action..doing what he does best just like his Mommy!

Today after our tot-time library class we headed to the park with Sarah and Tyler. It was a beautiful day and the boys had fun running all over the place. Braden crashed when we got home.

After his nap, Braden helped Chris with a little mowing. Being the worrier that I am, I couldn't decide if I was more worried about him falling off or the fact that he didn't have any sunscreen on! Ha!

New toys

Braden has been having fun with a few new toys. I took his water table from last summer and we put some new sand and toys in it. He is loving it. :) Gma Cindy and Pop have been starting the yard sale season so they are already finding great deals. They got Braden this weed eater so he can get in the yard and pretend he's Daddy. Too bad Braden doesn't know that in a few years Chris will be recruiting him to really help him with that stuff....poor guy. :)
