Lego Fest

We sure are lucky! Last week I entered a contest on Louisville Family Fun's site on facebook for a family getaway to Cincinnati. I entered not thinking too much and guess what??! We won!! A really fabulous package actually! We got 4 tickets to Lego Fest (an $80 value), a night's stay at Embassy Suites (which is a lot I'm guessing), a $20 gas gift card and 4 tickets to the Children's Museum. I was SOOOOO excited! It was for spring break week and we were already heading to Cincinnati anyways so I just cancelled our other plans. It worked out perfectly! It ended up being the best two days! The kids were great and had so much fun at both places. I just love, love sitting and watching my boys so involved in play (because that sure doesn't happen around this house a whole lot. ha!).

There were tons of huge lego sculptures from famous characters to this guy...my boys just started stopping at each one and posing for a picture. :) They know their mom!

LEGO LAND!!!!! :)
Handsome boys :)
They played in this area forever! You will build your own race car (or snatch someone else's if you're Ethan) and race it down the ramp.
How cool is this?!!? We did this! ha....just kidding of course but man oh man, there are some serious lego builders out there! :)
Crack me up! They had a demonstration area for this vacuum that picked up legos. My boys loved it and had to give it a try.
They had a lego reading area. Gotta love Ethan's big cheese!
Good work boys!
Ethan pretty much just enjoyed walking on the bazillions of legos!
It was a super dooper fun day!! I'll have to blog day two later. :)

1st Boating trip of the summer!

Today is the first official day of spring and our first official boating trip. Chris has been itching to get the boat out and as soon as this weather turned warm, I knew it wouldn't be long. I told Ethan this morning that we were going and that's all he talked about on the way to the sitter's and home. He didn't even fall asleep for the first time ever for his nap because I think he was too excited! He kept saying, "Daddy-boat, daddy-boat drive). ha! He loves him some boatin'. The Missi's were trying to put in at Hardy too but were having a little boat trouble so hopped in with us for a bit. The weather was just perfect! Still too cold to swim for most, but Judd did jump in for a few. Yowzers!!! Boating season has officially begun!
Ethan had to get in some driving right away!
The boys loved going fast!
Dipping their feet in to see if they could jump in..Braden never got in but Judd did for a minute. It was SOO cold!
Ethan showing off for Nash
Ethan loved kicking his feet...even if it was frigid. :)
More driving...with Donald Trump hair!
Within 5 minutes of leaving the lake...this was the scene in the backseat. Just tuckered out boys...and we didn't even swim. ha!

Beautiful weather!!!!!!

Well spring is officially here but it officially feels like summer! I'll take it! It has been sooo beautiful lately! Sunday we were outside all day! The little boys and I washed my car and then they had fun washing their bikes, wagons and each other. ha! Give your kids a hose and a bucket of soapy water and it's hour of entertainment!! This will be my summer agenda...and maybe our grass will green up too!
Braden always has to pose...ummm, is this Charlie's Angels? :)
Gotta love the outfit! No need to sunscreen the legs. :)

SIGS

Last week we met Alicia and her cuties at SIGS for bouncetime. I feel a little guilty becasue I used to take Braden all the time when he was little but now with two, it gets kind of pricey. :( Poor 2nd child!! But we went and the kids had a blast. It was great catching up with Alicia and letting the boys run and get all sweaty. Afterwards, we headed to none other than..Chic-fil-a for some more germy love. ha!
Big boys enjoying their icecreams sporting their chic-fil a hats!

Thanks for a fun day McAfee's!

Braden's kindergarten registration

Last Thursday was Grant Line's kindergarten registration night. We are still a little undecided on where we'll send the kids to school (mommy has indecisive issues over here) but we are leaning towards Grant Line so off we went. I wasn't too sad yet just because I was all business. The full blown teacher came out and I was analyzing everything around the school. ha! Now come August, I'll be a mess thinking of my baby going to school ALL day everyday!!! Yikes! Seriously where does the time go? I only took a couple pictures because I didn't want to be "that mom" since no one else seemed to be in the blogging spirit around me. Hee hee! But I did manage to take a quick one in a classroom and afterwards in the cafeteria. Braden and Walker hooked right up to see what was on Kate's phone...sheesh! These kids and phones. Crack me up!

Chris' band's big debut night!

Friday night was the big night for Chris' band. What started as a couple of guys getting together and playing guitar occasionally, turned into a full band that debuted for lots of family and friends this weekend! Chris has always loved music, especially live music so this was pretty much a dream come true for him. He got together with his brother, a couple of Jeremy's band members and 2 new friends and created "Nervous Wreck." It was such a fun night!! Chris was super nervous but did awesome-the whole band sounded great! The best part was that SO many of our family and friends came out for the big night. We also secretly wore our band shirts that Chris had no idea about. I created a little shirt on Cafe Press and had no idea so many people would want to buy one. Such great support! Thanks to everyone that came out! It was such a special night for Chris! Who knew I'd be married to a rock star? Hee hee!
Several of us met at Cluckers before the big show for dinner. These are my "street girls"...the girls that live on my street!

The sign at Bearno's
Chris singing it up!
He had tons of family there....Cindy and Craig sporting their shirts!
More family...Chris' dad's side

All of us girls enjoying the show :)

Around the house...

Here is a video of Ethan "reading." Love when little ones try to imitate reading...it's one of my favorite things to see as a teacher and a mom. Too cute! The other video is Braden making up a song about me running. His eyes while he's emphasizing each verse crack me up.
