Today after Chris got home from school we headed up to Hardy Lake. It's supposed to rain for the rest of the weekend so we wanted to get out while we could. We were excited to try the new boat grill tonight that Chris ordered for his bday. Well it's always something with us....we had everything out and ready to grill and then realized our lighter wouldn't work. :( So no grilling on the boat yet. We said by the time summer really hits, we'll have all of the kinks of boating worked out hopefully.
For those of you that didn't get to hear the story of our last trip...ha ha, it's a funny one! Long story short, on our last trip we ran all around the lake, everything was great and then we anchored and ate dinner. When we got ready to go again, the boat was idling and Braden was sitting in the driver seat with me right beside him. Well apparently he pulled out the kill switch (the one you would attach to your life jacket in case you were thrown out and it would kill the engine etc..) just a bit and it killed the motor. Well of course we had no clue and couldn't figure out what went wrong. We ended up having to get towed in by a fisherman and put the boat on the trailer with our hands. Ha! Then once home, Chris and his dad were checking everything on the boat in the dark trying to figure out what was wrong until they thought of the kill switch. Yep, that's what it was! We were happy it was nothing broken, but come on seriously?!?!? What a hoot! Chris said, "are you going to blog this?" Ha! He knew we'd get made fun of for this one for a long time. :)
I made it my mission tonight to make Ethan stay in his life jacket. He actually did great! Does that thing look comfortable to you? Poor baby :(
Check out Ethan's hair from the wind...a little Donald Trump maybe?
Yep, the water is still freezing, but Braden wanted to check

those first two of ethan ARE A HOOT!!! i love it!
ha ha ha!! i will never forget the time that that very same thing happen to us when i was a kid. my mom and dad were out on the boat with a bunch of kids (i don't remember how many bc we always camped with a big group). anyway, a storm came and we were stuck outside on one of those islands at patoka. the storm was so bad that NO ONE, not even the coast guard, stopped to help us! my dad was standing at the edge of the island in knee deep water so it didn't blow away and we were all hudled down in the back hoping we didn't die. ahhhh, the memories! :) don't sweat it, chris! silly things happen to all of us!
that picture of ethan's hais is hilarious!
